Harriet Short is a barrister practicing from Mitre House Chambers. She specialises in immigration and public law.
She was the Legal Officer on the Robert Hamill Inquiry from December 2007 until October 2009. The Robert Hamill Inquiry is a public inquiry forming part of the Northern Ireland peace process. She deferred her pupillage to complete the inquiry hearings, taking the functions of Junior Counsel to the Inquiry. She is currently instructed to advise the team representing the Core Participant Victims in the Leveson Inquiry.
She has been the lecturer and convener of Refugees and Human Rights on the London Metropolitan LLM International Law since 2006. Her practical experience includes work on Amnesty International’s Stop Violence against Women Campaign, Bail for Immigration Detainees and Liberty.
