Ashley Underwood is a tenant at Landmark Chambers. He took silk in 2001. Prior to that he was on the Supplementary Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown.

Ashley has two principal areas of work: chancery/ commercial and public law. His public law work is mainly for central and local government. He has acted for the local authorities in many of the major housing cases. He is joint editor of Hill & Redman Public Sector Tenancies. He has acted for the Secretary of State for the Home Department in a large number of important human rights cases. In addition he is on the Attorney General’s list of Special Advocates.

From 2004, he was Leading Counsel to the Robert Hamill Inquiry, a public inquiry forming part of the Northern Ireland peace process.  He is currently Counsel to the Azelle Rodney Inquiry.
