Kate Olley (Called 1999) is a leading public and administrative law specialist, recommended in the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 directories for Administrative Law, Education and Local Government as “a rising star”, “a very persuasive and thorough advocate, whose written advice and skeleton arguments are of a very high standard” and for her “excellent communication skills”. Since 2007 she has been a member of the Attorney-General’s ‘B’ Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown, previously appointed to the ‘C’ Panel in 2004.

Her practice covers all areas of public law in the High Court, Court of Appeal and First-tier and Upper Tribunals. She was a Pegasus Scholar to Hong Kong where she worked with Justice of Appeal Frank Stock. She is a former Chair of the Free Representation Unit (2001-2002). She has worked with the British Council and was invited to be the Event Director of their ‘Access to Justice’ international seminar. She has on many occasions provided ECHR training for the Council of Europe’s Directorate-General of Human Rights in various countries. In 2005 she became a CEDR-accredited mediator.
